One day I said "God why is my life so miserable?" But then I remembered "We are all in this earth for a reason." said an old lady I used to speak to after Church. And it hit me. All these things I never realized before, just hit me. I was always complaining about my life. "My clothes are lame, we have no cable, and his food sucks." where the usual complaints. And I suddenly broke into tears. It’s like God touched my senses. I cried all night and asked him for forgiveness. Later on that night I saw a commercial of how to help the families in Ethiopia and Africa . I said lord, please forgive me. I look at the children on the television; they have nothing on their feet. I look at mine; I have a brand new pair of Haynes sock, along with a pair of sketchers. I look at their hair; their hair is not even combed. I look at mine, its shinny and relaxed. I look above their waist, they are wearing nothing. I am wearing a pretty shirt with the color of the sea. I look below their waist, nothing. I look at myself I have a flowery pair of jeans. I cried as I realized that I had been so ungrateful my entire life. I complained about the dumbest things. And not once did I say thank you to my parents, to God. Not once did I stop and said "thank you Lord for this day" weather it was good or bad. Just the simple fact that you are alive and living! Be thankful for each breath your able to take. I realized not everyone has the opportunity to do so. There are people who don't even make it to the age of ten! So be thankful that you did! Some people in other countries cannot afford to go to school. Be thankful that you could go to school. Many people hate school, but school is your future. It’s going to lead you to doors. And from with the knowledge you learned in school, that will help you unlock the doors. Be thankful for every door that is unlocked. They’re people that die, due to starvation. Be thankful for every piece of bread that you are able to consume. Be thankful for the simple fact that you can see. There are millions that are blind, and deaf. Be thankful if you can speak, if you have the capability to read. Like Eleanor Roosevelt said "Life is a gift, that's why today they call it the present." So if you have a lame cell phone that cares! Be grateful you have one. When you learn to be thankful, and appreciate things, you begin to see life in a more positively way. And blessings will be headed to your direction. There will be less complaining, and more thanking. With those words being said, when you wake up, say thank you lord for this day. For each day you have a roof above your head, because you never know at what moment it will be taken. When you have the opportunity of serving food to your family, each day you are able to spend time with your family. Don't take life for granted, be thankful and appreciate.
